Deepika Padukone with 'HNY' once again becomes the Rs 100 cr queen of Bollywood

Mumbai:  The leggy lass Deepika Padukone is once again made it to the top of the charts with the super success of ‘Happy New Year’. The actress has five flicks under her belt, which have marched into the Rs 100 cr club.

Recently the Dabangg lady Sonakshi Sinha took away the coveted title from the actress with the success of her Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Holiday- A Soldier is Never Off Duty’. But later she shared the title of ‘Rs 100 cr queen of Bollywood’ with the Independence Day release ‘Singham Returns’ actress Kareena Kapoor Khan who too took the superhit flicks total to five.

But Deepika Padukone tops the chart, who however has similar number of Rs 100 cr movies but with an average (Rs 155 cr) better than Sonakshi and Kareena

Deepika Padukone’s Race 2 collected Rs 100.45 cr while her multi-starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani garnered Rs 188.57 cr. Her first Rs 200 cr movie Chennai Express opposite Shah Rukh Khan ended its box-office run at Rs 227.13 cr.

Her fourth movie in a row in one year Ram-Leela minted Rs 116.33 cr. And what shall we say for Happy New Year? The movie is already in the elite club and is racing fast to hit the double ton.

Kareena Kapoor (142 cr average) tags herself to Rs 100 cr flicks namely 3 Idiots, Ra. One, Bodyguard, Golmaal 3 and Singham Returns.

Sonakshi Sinha’s (average of Rs128 cr) five super hits are Dabangg, Dabangg 2, Rowdy Rathore, Son of Sardar and Holiday.

Priyanka Chopra alongwith Krrish 3, Agneepath, Barfi and Don 2 has four superhit flicks under her belt.

Katrina Kaif too has four flicks to associate herself with namely Bang Bang, Dhoom 3, Jab Tak Hain Jaan and Ek Tha Tiger.

Southern siren Asin is associated with superhit dramas like Ghajini, Housefull 2, Ready and Bol Bachchan.

Abhishek Bachchan to play Yuvraj Singh on screen?

Mumbai, Oct 19: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is making a lot of buzz these days—be it his Kabbadi team (Jaipur Pink Panthers) or upcoming release 'Happy New Year'—the actor is everywhere. According to a leading daily, the talented actor might soon be seen playing the role of Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh in his biopic.

Reports suggest that Yuvi's autobiography titled 'Test Of My Life', which was released in 2013 will form the basis of the screenplay for Bachchan junior's movie. AB baby might even turn producer for the biopic as well, reportedly. Yuvi' book has an account of his journey in life as a cricketer, and how he battled the deadly disease of cancer, only to hit back on field as a strong cancer survivor.

No confirmation has been made either by the actor or by the cricketer as yet. We do hope, this project gets a green signal, and watching Abhishek play Yuvraj on screen sounds interesting.

A new name for Govinda's daughter Narmada

Mumbai, Oct 09: Govinda's daughter Narmada Ahuja, who is on her way to entering films, will do so now with a new name. Narmada is going to be known as Tina Ahuja in filmdom.

Narmada had earlier tweaked her name to Narmmadaa owing to numerological reasons. However, industry insiders say that choosing the name Tina Ahuja for the silver screen is not a numerology-influenced decision. Tina is Narmada's nickname, and her friends too address her by the same. A source informed a daily, "Since she is young, Tina embodies her personality better, which is why the decision." Narmada will be making her acting debut in the film Second Hand Husband, with Punjabi star Gippy Grewal. The starlet is following in the footsteps of her father, who had changed his name from Govind Arun Ahuja to Govinda before entering the Hindi film industry.
