Bangalore, Sep 3 2013: 29 MLAs and three MLCs who have not submitted statements of assets and liabilities of their own and their family members as per the list released by the Lokayukta office.

A press release from the Lokayukta said that Section 22(1) of the Karnataka Lokayukta Act, 1984, mandates that every public servant mentioned in sub section (1) of Section 7 other than a government servant, should submit before June 30 every year a statement of his/her assets and liabilities and those of family members.

Those who do not file the statements within the prescribed date are given two more months to comply. This period ended on August 30. According to sources in the Lokayukta, the list of defaulters will now be sent to the Governor, H R Bhardwaj, who will take action as he deems fit.

Defaulters list:

Following are the rest of the MLAs: Munirathna from Rajarajeshwarinagar, Sathish Reddy M from Bommanahalli, Shivanna B from Anekal, Guru Patil Shiraval from Shahapur, Mallikarjun Sidramappa Khuba from Basavakalyan, Dr Shivaraj Patil S from Raichur, Channabasappa Satyappa Shivalli from Kundgol, Abbayya Prasad from Hubli-Dharwad East, Manohar H Tahsildar from Hangal, Bheemanaik LBP from Hagaribommanahalli, Shivamurthy K from Mayakonda, Ningaiah B B from Mudigere, Shadakshari K from Tiptur, Sudhakara Lal P R from Koratagere, Rajanna M from Shidlaghattta, Krishnareddy J K from Chintamani, Dr Srinivasamurthy K from Nelamangala, Balakrishna H C from Magadi, Puttannaiah K S from Melukote, Manju A from Arakalagud, Mohiuddin Bava B A from Mangalore City North, Mahesh S R from Krishnaraja Nagar, Jayanna S from Kollegal. The MLCs are Tara Anuradha, Raghunath Rao Malkapure and Syed Mudheer Aga.

While Kumaraswamy has a reason for not submitting the same. He claimed the government had acquired a piece of land owned by him at Bidadi for the gas pipeline project. Though the government has given Rs 20 lakh compensation per acre, it has not yet provided all documents in this regard. Hence the delay.
